Covid-19: New Deaths Reported In Dutchess; Here's The Latest Breakdown Of Cases By Community

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Dutchess is back above 1,000 as the death toll in the county topped 400 as the region continues combating the virus.

Dutchess health officials were monitoring 1,177 active COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday, Feb. 24, up from 819 late last week. 

According to the Department of Health, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Dutchess has reached 21,769 out of more than 520,000 tests that have been administered countywide.

In the past week, six new virus-related deaths were reported in Dutchess, bringing the total to 404 since the pandemic began last year.

The seven-day rolling positive infection rate in Dutchess up to 4.35 percent after it was up near 7 percent earlier this month.

Dozens of COVID-19 patients have been discharged from Dutchess County hospitals in the past week, leaving a total of 46 being treated for the virus in Dutchess, down from more than 100 last week.

Health officials said that 20,188 in Dutchess have contracted COVID-19 and recovered.

  • Poughkeepsie City: 114;
  • East Fishkill: 104;
  • Wappinger: 82;
  • Fishkill: 77;
  • Hyde Park: 62;
  • Beekman: 43;
  • Pleasant Valley: 40;
  • LaGrange: 39;
  • Beacon City: 36;
  • Wappingers Falls Village: 22;
  • Dover: 20;
  • Amenia: 16;
  • Union Vale: 16;
  • Red Hook: 15;
  • Pawling: 14;
  • Rhinebeck: 12;
  • Clinton: 10;
  • Stanford: 8;
  • Washington: 7;
  • Fishkill Village: 7.

There are less than five active COVID-19 cases in Millbrook Village, Millerton Village, North East, Pawling Village, Pine Plains, Red Hook Village, Rhinebeck Village, and Tivoli Village.

Statewide, a total of 1,578,785 positive COVID-19 cases have been confirmed out of more than 36 million tests that have been administered. There have been a total of 37,851 virus-related deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
